Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has firmly rejected opposition allegations of large-scale irregularities in last year’s Mega DSC teacher recruitment drive, stating that no wrongdoing occurred and that roughly eighty percent of teachers currently working in state schools were recruited during his tenure. He noted that about 350 writ petitions challenging the recruitment were already heard and disposed of by courts before appointment orders were issued, and he dismissed the fresh allegations as a politically motivated campaign timed to embarrass his administration. The state government maintained that the recruitment followed established rules with digital processes and security safeguards against manipulation.
YSR Congress Party chief and former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy renewed his attacks by alleging clear irregularities and questioning decisions such as placing exam preparation and supervision under a single official, as well as citing about 372 sports quota appointments made without a competitive exam and a state education department outsourcing employee who secured a district-topping rank. Jagan accused the government of avoiding debate in the Legislative Council while agreeing to a discussion in the Legislative Assembly. He has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation probe and the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, vowing that protests will continue until that demand is met.
