A Houthi military spokesperson stated that Saudi-led coalition forces carried out 28 airstrikes across Yemen within 24 hours. The strikes used F-15 and Typhoon aircraft from the Khamis Mushait and Taif airbases, hitting the governorates of Taiz, Al-Jawf, and Marib.

This followed a Houthi statement claiming successful missile and drone strikes that caused large fires at sites in Riyadh and at Aramco facilities in Yanbu. The Houthis also accused Saudi forces of killing several people in a prior strike on a Yemeni prison facility.

In response, the United States issued a security alert requiring special authorisation for official and personal travel to Taif and Yanbu. President Trump cut short a stay at Camp David to return to the White House as officials discussed potential strike options against Houthi targets.
