Telangana formed a high-level officials committee on Friday to untangle properties stuck under Section 22A of the Registration Act. The panel will be chaired by Chief Commissioner of Land Administration DS Lokesh Kumar, alongside the Law Secretary and the Inspector General of Registration as members. The orders followed a public assurance from the Chief Minister.

The government also directed officers to clear pending GO 118 applications from LB Nagar colonies covering about 9,700 families within a month, with regularisation beginning Saturday. Separate fast tracks were promised for HMDA, GHMC, and DTCP-approved layouts that stalled under Section 22A. Additionally, housing questions in the Singareni coal belt were assigned to the Deputy Chief Minister for talks with local MLAs.

The Revenue Minister told the Assembly that these moves are part of the Chief Minister’s twelve-point land-action plan. The broader plan includes ULC regularisation, leasehold-to-freehold conversion in Secunderabad, and new schemes for unauthorised colonies.
