A series of Houthi drone and missile attacks struck southern Saudi Arabia on September 8, hitting civilian and economic facilities in Abha, Jazan, Najran, and Khamis Mushait. Saudi authorities and the Saudi-led coalition reported that 73 people were wounded, including women and children.

The Saudi Energy Ministry stated that fires broke out at some oil facilities and utilities, leading to the temporary suspension of operations at those sites. The Houthis claimed responsibility for the strikes, stating they were in response to Saudi operations in Yemen, and confirmed targeting oil and industrial sites as well as King Khalid Air Base.

Independent reporting confirmed both the casualty figure and the disruption to energy infrastructure. Saudi officials announced they would take measures to deter further attacks.
