India’s Enforcement Directorate has asked Kerala’s director general of police to register a corruption case connected to the CMRL pay-off investigation. The request names Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter T Veena, and his son-in-law and minister P A Mohammed Riyas.

The agency alleges that CMRL made payments to Veena’s company, Exalogic Solutions, without corresponding services, which may have channelled a ₹3.28 crore bribe to Vijayan. The referral does not amount to a criminal charge or a finding of guilt, and state authorities will decide on registration and any ensuing investigation.

The matter is separate from the agency’s money-laundering investigation under the PMLA framework, and follows a probe into alleged monthly payments by the mineral-sands company. Vijayan and the other named figures have previously denied wrongdoing in the controversy.
