The Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested M. Lokanadham, a deputy executive officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, in a disproportionate assets case. A court has remanded him to fourteen days of judicial custody at Nellore prison. Investigators allege that Lokanadham amassed assets exceeding his known legitimate income by more than 130 percent over a seven-and-a-half-year period, resulting in roughly 2.91 crore rupees in unaccounted wealth.
The bureau’s inventory includes eight immovable properties—such as a commercial shopping complex and a residential building—registered across Tirupati and Vadamalapeta in the names of Lokanadham, his wife, and his son. Officials also seized gold valued at about 32 lakh rupees, two automobiles, several two-wheelers, silver items, and high-end electronic gadgets. Investigators stated that the case originated from a tip received during a separate Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the alleged adulteration of ghee used in the temple’s laddu prasadam.
