Romanian prosecutors have formally indicted online influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate in a new criminal case centered on the alleged sexual exploitation of a minor, sending the case to the Bucharest Tribunal. Andrew Tate faces charges including trafficking a minor, continued money laundering, repeated sexual acts with a minor, and influencing witness statements. Tristan Tate faces related charges of complicity in trafficking a minor, continued money laundering, and influencing statements.

Prosecutors allege that Andrew Tate recruited a girl in 2012 when she was fifteen, misleading her about his intentions for a relationship, and profited over one and a quarter million dollars from her sexual exploitation. The indictment also accuses him of engaging in repeated sexual acts with another fifteen-year-old girl between December 2020 and mid-2021. Additionally, investigators allege the brothers purchased four luxury vehicles between December 2023 and July 2024 and registered them in trusted associates’ names to conceal funds from the exploitation, prompting prosecutors to seek the confiscation of both the vehicles and the money obtained through the scheme.

This indictment adds to an existing case against the brothers in Romania involving rape, human trafficking, and forming an organised criminal group. The brothers have consistently denied wrongdoing and describe the accusations as a coordinated and politically motivated campaign, and they remain under an ongoing judicial control order in Romania as the cases move through the courts.
