Uttar Pradesh minister and Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar criticized Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav following a meeting between Yadav and Cockroach Janta Party co-convener Ashutosh Ranka. The roughly ninety-minute closed-door discussion took place in Lucknow on September 3, 2026, at the Janeshwar Mishra Trust office and reportedly covered issues like unemployment and school education.

Rajbhar mocked Yadav’s political strategy, comparing his reliance on the youth-driven party to the grassroots efforts of party founders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Shivpal Singh Yadav, who built the organization by touring villages on bicycles. Questioning whether Akhilesh expected to form a government by relying on “cockroaches” from an air-conditioned office, Rajbhar’s remarks were used by BJP-aligned leaders to argue the SP’s independent base is weakening.

Neither Yadav nor Ranka has issued a detailed public response to the comments. The Cockroach Janta Party, founded in mid-2026 by Abhijeet Dipke, has gained prominence among Gen Z voters following a July 2026 protest march in the national capital over education and youth issues.
