A delegation of senior Maharashtra ministers travelled to Antarwali Sarati village in Jalna district on September 4, 2026, to ask Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil to end his hunger strike. Arriving on the sixth day of his indefinite fast, the ministers offered several measures, including making Kunbi caste records available to gram panchayats, issuing caste certificates based on Hyderabad Gazette records, creating a dedicated Maratha Reservation Cell, and allocating 300 crore rupees to the Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation.
Despite these assurances, Jarange refused to call off his fast, stating he will not stop until the government meets his full set of demands. He set a fresh deadline of September 11 for all demands to be fulfilled, and added that if the state accepts every demand, the community will celebrate by bringing gulal to Mumbai, with the march date to be announced at a September 12 community meeting.
