The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned an Iranian attack on the Saudi-flagged supertanker Sidr in the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a dangerous escalation. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and invoked United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 to stress the protection of commercial shipping and freedom of navigation.

Saudi shipping company Bahri confirmed the attack and reported casualties, stating that two Filipino crew members aboard the vessel were killed. The incident adds to a string of recent strikes on Gulf-linked vessels transiting the strait amid intensified fighting between the United States and Iran.
