A widely shared social media video claiming to show a hidden Hezbollah storage site filled with stacks of cash has been debunked as entirely computer-generated. Fact-checkers found the clip featured typical signs of AI generation, such as unnatural lighting, inconsistent physics in how the money moved, and visual artifacts around edges and transitions.
The fabricated video is part of a broader increase in AI-generated images and content circulating since fighting between Israel, Hezbollah, and Iran intensified over the past year. Researchers note that these fake clips, which have also included staged strikes and supposed images of captured soldiers, often spread rapidly within hours of posting for engagement or to reinforce specific narratives.
